Beyond the Words

I honestly hate traditional art....
Anyways, this is a piece for the Words 2017 Contest at my district. The theme is..words.

Taking it metaphorically, I crafted an image of visualization where a tree grows out of the text from the line paper below, blooming with other elements, such as a flying asian dragon, branches that twists itself to form terrain, a house formed of books, a figure of a woman growing out of the trunk, etc.

I spent 3 whole days planning and colouring this, and traditional  art is such a pain! You have to layer out all your colours, structures, etc out carefully before you actually start the process. I couldn't handle it

If i win however! This will be featured on the cover for the book! The right side is the front, and the left is the back cover.
I really like the front cover a lot (right), cuz of the shadows and the lighting <3

I would love to make a digital version of this, but time is a cruel thing.
